Photography Ticketing System: Ticket Please!

When someone registers along with their receipt we now also send them a ticket! We are really excited about this new feature! We also added a reminder email that will go out 72 hours before the event and it will resend all the details along with the ticket. They can also login to their account and print the ticket and receipt there at any time.

This ticket below is one that we have generated for demonstration purposes. The Workshop Name and Instructor is printed in the top middle. Middle left is all the registratants information. Middle Right is the Host's(instructor) name and informations. Then on the right hand side of the ticket it has the Workshop Name, followed by the workshop address(full address we just didn't input it here), price paid for the ticket, Date (start and end), and time(start and end) for the event.

This will also be great for when you the instructor prints out your workshop attenedes. These tickets can be used to help with registration at the event.

We are selling photography seats/tickets for workshops and events, so we thought it was time to make it look official!

Instructors: Cumulative Running Numbers

We have added another great tool for instructors. We do biweekly payouts and provide you with all the payout statements the week after the period ends. But what if you want to see cumulative running numbers by workshop and by date? Well now you can! As soon as someone registers you can login to Fisheye Connect. Click on "My Money" and under your weekly payout Statement you will see an area that gives you real time running numbers for your event. This could have been done before by downloading your payout statement into excel and looking at the numbers and crunching them yourself. Now we do it for you and you can print and export that data!

You will be able to see the numbers by workshop, event/date, and totals for everything. This is a great way to keep an eye on income/numbers when budgeting for expenses for an upcoming event!

We are all about giving you the tools you need to make it easy to succeed!

Instructor Refund Policy

Fisheye Connect does not issue refunds. Mainly because we handle the registration, but then send the funds on to the instructor. If someone has to cancel... well you can see where the problem in that enlies. A ticket sold takes away an available seat for the workshop. Since the workshops have a limited number of seats, tickets will not be refunded. Please make sure you can attend the event prior to registering.

That is Fisheye Connect's refund policy. Most instructors don't accept refunds due to cost of executing a workshop for the same reason as when you buy a concert ticket. The instructor is allocating his time, resources, and enduring expenses for the seats that are sold.  But we leave it up to the individual instructor if they want to accept refunds or exchanges. We now have a place on the Instructor profile that says Refund Policy. If nothing is entered it is our default policy here

If you have a Refund Policy entered it will show up on the workshop page as well as on the confirmation screen when they purchase the ticket, so they are also agreeing to your refund policy. Our policy covers you either way, but just to have clear expectations this is a great tool.

Promo Codes- Percentage off, Dollar Off, or Fixed Price

One of the best ways to keep track of traffic is to have promo codes/coupon codes. You can reach out to your network/vendors and give their users a discount to your event. Win/win for both. You could capture a new audience, and your vendor gets to give their users an exclusive deal or reward. At the end of the event your can export your registrants data into excel and be able to look at who registers using what code to determine what promotions were successful.

As a student registering, it also is a nice bonus and can encourage one to commit sooner by taking advantage of a discount.

We have had promo codes for about six months and everyone seems to be using and loving them. To add a promo code you just go to that workshop's homepage. And on the bottom right hand side you will see Add Promo Code.(see image below)

One you click that you are taken to this screen below. You can create as many promo codes as you like. You can create one that is an Percentage off the total, Dollar off the total, or set a fixed price for that promo code.

Fisheye Connect does not create or give out promo codes. Only instructors has this ability. * Promo codes can only be applied at the time of checkout.

Make it Your Brand!

Instructors have said they wanted a way to incorporate their brand more into Fisheye Connect. A lot of you have blogs or even photography workshop website where you want to be able to use that but let Fisheye Connect handle the registration and details.

Well we finally have a way! Or really two and you can use both.

First Way. If you have a blog or website. You can now use our RSS feed. You can find this link under your dashboard under "My Links". All you have to do is download and install the RSS feed into your website/blog.  Take the RSS link we provide you for your workshops, then all of your events from Fisheye Connect will show up on your site. Once they click on the link it will take them to the checkout process screen on Fisheye Connect in order to securely guide them through that process. There are many free RSS free plugins that you can use on your site for this.

Second Way.

You will see a new area on your main profile page at the bottom titled. "Custom Instructor Page Details". You can check "Use the custom workshop page" and you can customize the look and feel when someone is searching for your workshops exclusively or when you are wanting to put a link out on your website, blog, or even a link on social media that will tell everyone about your upcoming events. Again this link is also found under "My Links" on your Dashboard.

Customize the colors, upload your logo, and even add a message or "tagline" about your workshop or brand.

Here is an example. We used Mike Moreland and here is a screen shot of his website and brand that we will match.

We went through and customized his page to his colors and brand and uploaded a logo. Easy peasy :)

Here is the before of what his personal page on Fisheye Connect looked like.

Here is the after!

So if the traffic is coming from your social media or website it is a smoother transition. We are just empowering your brand!

Promo Code Tracking

You might have noticed a few changes on the backend of Fisheye Connect. We are continuing to add new features and functions to make Fisheye Connect a better resource. Instructors are giving valuable feedback in order to make Fisheye Connect a more powerful tool for your business. Our goal is to make it easy for you to be successful.

About two months ago we added the function of Promo Codes and a ton of you are already using them.  We now have promo code tracking. You can have different codes for different marketing mechanics and use Fisheye Connect as the tool to track and store your data.

The highlighted area above is where you can view the full roster. You can now download all attendees for a single workshop regardless of how many cities are in the workshop. On the full roster all contact information as well as promo code information is attached. You can print or export this information into excel to use for your own performance tracking.

Direct Deposit

Starting the week of June 12th we are moving to direct deposit!  YAY!!! We will send another reminder email on instructions and how a few things will change. You will have the option of a check or getting everything electronically.

In order to make this transition we are moving payouts to bi-weekly. On the day the statements are generated you will get a notification and if you have selected direct deposit as your method of payment it will be deposited into your account immediately. By going  bi-weekly this will not slow down your fund receiving process. It will just eliminate the mail travel time and hassle of making your way to the bank. All about making your life easier.

If you know you want to make this transition we will be getting you set up, so you will be ready to go on the 12th. All you have to do is fill out this form and fax it back to us at 1-877-310-4954. You will see the form on your dashboard.

Thanks again for your continued support. Due to our increase in numbers and support we are able to make this transition. As always if you need anything at all let us know.

New Rating System and Multiple Instructors

Wedding season and spring sessions are upon us! So I know everyone is crazy busy! I wanted to send out a quick email to inform you on some important updates that are taking place. We are rolling out updates over the next week like it is nobody's business. :) I am going to break the bigger updates in to a couple of emails in order to have examples. Here is just an overview of some of the new big features.

  •      New Rating System

  •      Multiple Instructors

  •      Discount/ Promo codes. % and $ off

Rating & Reviews
We modified the rating and review system. Following your workshop we will be continuing to follow-up with your attendees but it will look a bit different to you as well as the attendee. Instead of just leaving a 5 star overall rating and review. It will now be three questions, and a place to leave detailed feedback.

he ratings will also be public. Next time you offer that workshop future attendees will be able to see your awesome ratings so they know that they are investing in the right place. To see more examples and a future info on this please go to this blog post here. Here is what the reviews look like on the Workshop Page.

And you can click on More Info and see a breakdown of what made up the Average Rating.

Multiple Instructors
The Ratings and Reviews are tied to your instructor profile. A lot of you teach workshops with fellow photographers or associations. So now when setting up the workshop you will see a place where you can select all the instructors that are involved. If you are setting up the workshop you are considered the host and default as an instructor. So you will not have to worry about yourself. If you don't see there name on the list to select. Just send them this link and ask them to set up a a free account on Fisheye Connect and just set up there profile. This way attendee can see the description of the workshop as well as click on the instructors to see there background and credentials.

You can see below how the new rating system looks from the back end.

Keep rockin it and don't hesitate to give me a shout! We will be sending more updates soon!
Thanks,

Kristy

Sal Cincotta | Vegas Workshop Wrap-Up

What an amazing time we had in Las Vegas! First of all, WPPI was amazing as usual. A great place to learn and connect with old friends and new, so, if you have not had a chance to go, I highly recommend you take the time and make the investment next year.

We had offered a workshop in the valley of fire, a gorgeous backdrop in the desert, but unfortunately, we found out just weeks before the event that our permit was high-jacked because there was a movie production going on out there. So, the moral of the story, hollywood trumps a WPPI workshop. :)

Fret not, we made some quick adjustments and found another visually enticing location at Red Rock Canyon. We started at 8am and returned at about 6pm. From the minute we got on the bus, school was in session - topics included the business of photography - seniors, weddings, etc. Once off the bus, we had access to beautiful models and a high school senior we flew in for the shoot. My goal was to give everyone the ability to see how we work with seniors and wedding couples from both a direction, posing, and wardrobe perspective. Plus, everyone had the opportunity to build their own portfolio by shooting for themselves.

Below are some of the images we captured from the day. Thank you to all our new friends who were part of the workshop, we look forward to working with you all in the future. For more information or to see more images, please visit behindtheshutter.com
