Have you ever heard of the SMUG (SmugMug User Group)? A SMUG is a place where you can learn, teach and meet up with other photographers who share your passion. It's also how we can tell you what's happening in our world and discover what's happening in yours. SMUGs are a great way to connect with other photographers and add a few weapons to your creative arsenal. They get photographers and what makes them tick. Things to expect at a SMUG event/workshop: You Learn: Guest speakers will light up the room with their wisdom for shooting great images and making money with photography. You Talk: Make contacts and connect with other pros in the know. Monthly meetings set the stage for infinite opportunities. And They Listen: SMUG leaders stay in close contact with SmugMug and share your requests with our team.
Fisheye Connect handles registrations for SMUGs across the country. So search here to find a meeting near you! To find out more about SMUGs or to read about what you have been missing out on click here to visit the SMUGs blog.

Just another email subscription? I think not!
The heart of why Fisheye was created is for photography enthusiast like myself, to be able to have one location to search for photography workshops and events. Searching for photography events in your area use to be a nightmare; scouring through websites and Google to look for local education or trying to keep in touch with people of interest by what events that they had going on or they were participating in.
Our time is precious and that method is SO inefficient. Fisheye Connect is a FREE service. If you are interested in photography you can come to Fisheye Connect search by location, categories, or certain instructors/groups. BUT here is the part that is really awesome. If you don’t see something that interests you OR if you want us to keep you connected without you having to dedicate time to continuing to search, we can do it!
Our Subscription service is FREE. And it’s not the normal “here is my email, ping me with all this information.” Our system sends out an email every Monday of the events that are coming up in the next two weeks along with the events that have just released. So when you subscribe you get a sort of concierge service, which is pretty darn valuable huh?
BUT let’s take that a step further. If you only wanted to be notified by events in your area…. or you only want to be notified when a certain instructor or group is launching something…. or you are only interested in events that involved lighting, wedding, and portraits, your weekly email can be customized to YOUR preferences. Take that awesome sauce.
We are your personal photography event concierge. So get back to work taking pictures, playing with your kiddos, or dedicate your time elsewhere because we have you covered and we will keep you connected! :)
Here is a screen shot of how easy it is to customize! If you haven't already subscribe HERE.

Update Your Profile: If you have an instructors account with us, take a few minutes to LOGIN and verify that everything is up to date. We now have a way for attendees to view your profile and view your ratings and reviews from past workshops/events. You can search instructors HERE. This will be a place for reference and will get more eyes on you as an instructor even while you don't have a current event up! So take a second and make sure you have an image uploaded and your profile is up to date.
Welcome SMUGs: Also we want to extend a warm welcome to the Smugmug User Groups! We are thrilled to have you guys as part of the Fisheye Connect Family!

When someone registers along with their receipt we now also send them a ticket! We are really excited about this new feature! We also added a reminder email that will go out 72 hours before the event and it will resend all the details along with the ticket. They can also login to their account and print the ticket and receipt there at any time.
This ticket below is one that we have generated for demonstration purposes. The Workshop Name and Instructor is printed in the top middle. Middle left is all the registratants information. Middle Right is the Host's(instructor) name and informations. Then on the right hand side of the ticket it has the Workshop Name, followed by the workshop address(full address we just didn't input it here), price paid for the ticket, Date (start and end), and time(start and end) for the event.
This will also be great for when you the instructor prints out your workshop attenedes. These tickets can be used to help with registration at the event.

We are selling photography seats/tickets for workshops and events, so we thought it was time to make it look official!

We have added another great tool for instructors. We do biweekly payouts and provide you with all the payout statements the week after the period ends. But what if you want to see cumulative running numbers by workshop and by date? Well now you can! As soon as someone registers you can login to Fisheye Connect. Click on "My Money" and under your weekly payout Statement you will see an area that gives you real time running numbers for your event. This could have been done before by downloading your payout statement into excel and looking at the numbers and crunching them yourself. Now we do it for you and you can print and export that data!
You will be able to see the numbers by workshop, event/date, and totals for everything. This is a great way to keep an eye on income/numbers when budgeting for expenses for an upcoming event!

We are all about giving you the tools you need to make it easy to succeed!

Fisheye Connect does not issue refunds. Mainly because we handle the registration, but then send the funds on to the instructor. If someone has to cancel... well you can see where the problem in that enlies. A ticket sold takes away an available seat for the workshop. Since the workshops have a limited number of seats, tickets will not be refunded. Please make sure you can attend the event prior to registering.
That is Fisheye Connect's refund policy. Most instructors don't accept refunds due to cost of executing a workshop for the same reason as when you buy a concert ticket. The instructor is allocating his time, resources, and enduring expenses for the seats that are sold. But we leave it up to the individual instructor if they want to accept refunds or exchanges. We now have a place on the Instructor profile that says Refund Policy. If nothing is entered it is our default policy here.

If you have a Refund Policy entered it will show up on the workshop page as well as on the confirmation screen when they purchase the ticket, so they are also agreeing to your refund policy. Our policy covers you either way, but just to have clear expectations this is a great tool.
