Desiring to put his platform in the photography community to good use, Mike has made it a point at every speaking engagement to promote Thirst Relief International, an organization very close to his heart, to help bring clean water to thousands in need over the last decade. In 2009, Colón led a group of photographers to Tanzania with Thirst Relief to document and help raise awareness for the organization. Top fashion designers Angel Sanchez, Ines DiSanto, Amy Michelson and Adele Wechsler jumped on board to donate funds and custom gowns for the benefit shoot which was featured in Wedding Style Magazine.
