Transportation and Parking at BUCIDA: 

Metro: Take the Orange or Blue line to the Foggy Bottom stop (15 minute walk to BUCDIA) or Rosslyn stop (25 minute walk). 

Shuttle: The Georgetown Metro Connection runs from 7:00am to midnight daily, picking up passengers at the Foggy Bottom and Rosslyn stops every ten minutes. Stop is a few minute walk away from BUCDIA

Bus: The DC Circulator runs from Union Station to Georgetown via M Street.

Parking: There is a convenient parking garage adjacent to BUCDIA. $10 and stays open until midnight

RICHARD NOWITZ BIO

Nowitz has contributed to National Geographic books and magazines since 1992. His pictures regularly appear in the world's leading travel guides and magazines, including Endless Vacations,GEO, Smithsonian, Time, and U.S. News & World Report. He is also a frequent contributor to Conde Nast Traveler's monthly "Room With a View" feature.

He has been the principal photographer of six Insight Travel Guides on Israel, Egypt, Cairo, Jerusalem, Wales, and London, as well as for large-format gift books on Israel, Turkey, and Egypt.

In 1995 Nowitz received the Educational Press Association's Award for Excellence in Educational Journalism.

Nowitz also gives photo-lighting seminars at regional U.S. camera shows, sharing his creative ability to work with people using lighting and filters in his travel assignment photography. He lives in Rockville, Maryland, with his wife and three children.

KENNETH GARRETT BIO

Ken Garrett was born September 23, 1953, in Columbia, Missouri. He got an early start in photography by attending photojournalism workshops at the University of Missouri in 1970 and 1972. He received a B.A. in anthropology from the University of Virginia in 1976. 

That same year, he shot his first article for National Geographic, a story about tall ships titled "Square-rigger: Voyage From Baltic to Bicentennial." Specializing in archaeology, paleontology, and ancient cultures worldwide, Garrett's other articles include "La Ruta Maya," "The Iceman," "Death on the Nile: Saqqara," "Lost World of the Little People: The People Time Forgot," "The New Face of King Tut: His Life and Death," and a series on the dawn of humans.

Garrett has also photographed a number of articles for National Geographic Traveler, including stories on Bermuda, New York's Finger Lakes, West Virginia's Potomac Highland, and Virginia's Loudon County.

His extensive book credits include El Templo Mayor: The Great Temple of the Aztecs in Mexico; Floaters and Stickups; Egypt of Pharaohs; Tutankamun and the Golden Age of the Pharaohs; The Judas Gospel; Lucy's Child; and Bulgaria's Gold Rush.

Garrett's work has been exhibited at the Smithsonian Institution, the University of Pennsylvania Museum of Archaeology & Anthropology, and in Egypt, Cuba, and Japan. It has also been published in Smithsonian, Air and Space, Archaeology,Fortune, Forbes, Time, Life, Audubon, GEO, National Wildlife, and Natural History. His corporate clients include IBM, the Marriott Corporation, UNC Aviation, and Starbucks Coffee.

Garrett lives in Broad Run, Virginia, with his wife, Lucie, and their daughters, Kate and Julie.
